Graduation Banquet this same date
Two dates, March 22nd and April 5th will be held in the training / conference room at the Angelina County Sheriff Office. All remaining classes will be held at the Sheriff’s Office Gun Range located on FM 58 next to the landfill.
All classes are on Thursdays and start at 6pm, scheduled to last 2 – 3 hours.
May 10th date will have a block of instruction where individuals will be offered the opportunity to shoot the type firearms issued to Deputies.
Riding with patrol will be offered after introduction date March 22nd Class attendees can ride up to 8 hours which must be taken while going through the eight week course.
Training will consist of: Officer Safety, gathering information at the initial call for service, types of calls responded to.
Training will consist of: The history of 911 and the role of the communications division.
Training will consist of: The role of how and what the Sheriff Office has to do with Civil Process
Training will consist of: The requirements sex offenders have to report on to be in compliance… “Myths & facts”
Use of Force
Will cover use of force continuum, how it’s applied, and how the public’s perception of its use is viewed.
Training will consist of: CID’s function in the police department.
Forensics will consist of: methods & variations applied in different cases.
(Some training material may be very graphic)
Training will consist of: various duties and responsibilities dealing with criminal and special investigations and how Rangers assists other agencies.
Training will consist of: Prosecution’s role in the Criminal Justice System.
Instructor: Firearms Instructor.
Training will consist of: Proper and safe handling of weapons. You’ll have the opportunity to shoot semi-auto handguns, shotguns, and semi-auto AR 15’s patrol type rifle.
